Dental Assistant

Licensed Medical Doctor

Qualifications:

Medical Scribe

Location: Southern California Medical Center – Van Nuys, CA

Job Description

This position is for a MA familiar with medical terminology and with some experience.

Responsibilities:

Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by physicians, including but not limited to:

• Patient medical history and physical exam,
• Procedures and treatments performed by healthcare professionals, including nurses and physician assistants.
• Patient education and explanations of risks and benefits.
• Physician-dictated diagnoses, prescriptions and instructions for patient or family members for self-care and follow-up
• Prepare referral letters as directed by the physician
• Medical Scribes also spot mistakes or inconsistencies in medical documentation and check to correct the information in order to reduce errors.
• Collect, organize and catalog data for physician quality reporting system quality improvement
• Alert physician when chart is incomplete.
• comply with expected standards, as well as with confidentiality, as required

 Skills, Education, Experience:

• At least 1-year experience as MA and scribe
• Must be bilingual in Spanish and English
• Detail oriented and multi-tasking
• Familiar with Electronic Medical Record keeping systems

Medical Assistant

Job Description

• Be able to cover both front and back office duties in the clinic.
• Good knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Effective communication with patients, clinic manager and staff.
• Familiar with clinical duties including patient triage, data collection and keeping accurate records.
• Experience with EMR system(s)
• Good Phone manners and communication skills

Requirements:

• High school and MA certificate
• At least 1 year clinical experience as a MA
• Ability to work in a high pace environment.
• English & Spanish
